Performance artist, Jean Minuchin brings her multimedia show “Still Life of an Orange and Other Puppet Parables” to the Broadwater Theater during the Hollywood Fringe Festival.

A series of fables that are absurd, funny and poignant.
Through storytelling, animation and puppetry, performance artist,
Jean Minuchin takes the audience on a journey into today’s most pressing issues through the charm of puppetry.

“Still Life of an Orange and Other Puppet Parables” recently premiered at the “NYU Forum for Performance as Activism”, following Jean’s interest in theater as a catalyst for social change.

With a background in both visual and performance arts Jean has cultivated a hybrid form of visual theater. Recent plays written, performed and toured by Jean include “Beneath the Hood” a solo mask play exploring the role of outcasts in a fictional community and “Odyssey in the Land of Shadows” a puppet play about the nature of grief and healing. She has performed at NYU Forums, WaxWorks in Brooklyn, NY
The National Puppetry Fringe Festival 2013 and at THE NERVE performance art festivals in 2016 and 2017. Her new play, “Still Life of an Orange and Other Puppet Parables” will be performed at the Hollywood Fringe Festival.

Jean Minuchin directs The World and Eye Arts Center based in South Florida. The organization produces the “Fort Lauderdale Story Slam”,
“Telling Tales: An Intergenerational Storytelling Project”
and “The Stone Soup Curriculum: A Celebration of Tolerance, Diversity and Sharing”.
