Laura Grimaldi stars as herself in her one woman show for the Hollywood Fringe Festival 2018. Written and Produced by Laura Grimaldi and directed by the amazing Jessica Lynn Johnson of Soaring Solo LLC.

“Left Turns” is a story where Laura takes you on a ride speaking candidly about her experiences using alternate characters to illuminate her innate guidance systems. Using humor which is sometimes dark, she explains why she stayed in abusive
relationships and how she finally broke free. Come experience one woman’s journey through abuse, trauma and finally finding the light on life’s highway.

This show will take place at the The Asylum Theatre Studio C Artists located at 6448 Santa Monica Blvd

Opening Night (Preview) will be on June 4th, as well as June 8, 17, & 23rd.

Laura Grimaldi, writer/producer of “Left Turns”, started acting again in 2014 and booked several shorts, a few several TV shows, including MY CRAZY EX and CRY WOLFE, and the feature film VERONA, which was shown at the Hollywood Reel Independent Film Festival February 2016. In August of 2016 she started filming her first lead in the short SHELBY’S VACATION directed by the successful director/sound editor Victoria Rose Sampson that made its first round in the festival circuit in 2017. With three marriages and 3 kids and half a lifetime of experience, Laura is now taking on the solo world to share her stories of trauma, truth and tenacity in trusting her true path despite all of life’s trials and tribulations along the way.

Jessica Lynn Johnson, Director, is a published playwright, recipient of BEST NATIONAL SOLO ARTIST AWARD, Board member of the LA Women’s Theatre Festival and Founder & CEO of Soaring Solo Theatre Company LLC. For years, Jessica has taught an ongoing FREE weekly solo theatre class, as well as paid private coaching sessions to guide solo artists in the development of their 1 person plays. For over a decade she has “edu-tained” international audiences touring her own 25 character one person shows. Recently, Jessica was thrilled to direct 5 solo artists in the LA Women’s Theatre Festival, 17 solo shows in Whitefire Theatre’s Solo Fest 2017, and 15 solo shows in the Hollywood Fringe Festival 2017. Over the years, Jessica’s solo shows haven taken home TOP OF FRINGE, ENCORE PRODUCER AWARDS, & several other accolades! Jessica is honored to be a guide on Laura’s solo journey. Enjoy the show!
