AWARD-WINNING SOLO SHOW “LIFE… DEATH… AND
ENTERTAINMENT” TAKES THE HOLLYWOOD FRINGE FESTIVAL
Susan Damante Reprises Her Critically-Acclaimed Solo Performance at The New Collective Mainstage

HOLLYWOOD, CA (May 23, 2017) – Written, produced, and performed by the award-winning Susan Damante, revamped with original music and lyrics by Ron Mesa (and additional music/lyrics by Alphonzo Terrell) LIFE… DEATH… AND ENTERTAINMENT is a solo show where live music collides with stories of family, death, fear, “incurable” illness, and spirituality. This June, the celebrated solo show has six performances during the Hollywood Fringe Festival.

“The woman is a survivor and a sage,” writes LA Journal reviewer Kathleen Crain, “She triggers vitality and teaches you more than your $15 theater ticket bargained for.”

LIFE… DEATH… AND ENTERTAINMENT took five years to write, develop and produce. It performed at the New York International Fringe Festival to rave reviews; prior to that, it was produced at the Los Angeles Women’s Theatre Festival, after its world premiere run at the Santa Monica Playhouse (originally directed and co-developed by Sue Hamilton.) The show won First Place at the ONE FESTIVAL in New York City.

Damante’s extensive performance credits include The Candidate with Robert Redford, The Student Teachers directed by Jonathan Kaplan (The Accused), The Wilderness Family (and its two sequels), and most recently as Cam Fish in Unending Hell. Among her critically acclaimed theatrical appearances have been the role of Mary Colby in Moral Imperative at Theatre 40 and on the New York stage as Bev McHale in Her Sonoma Story at the Neighborhood Playhouse.

WHAT THE REVIEWERS ARE SAYING:
Time Out NY **** (four stars): “Damante is a woman unafraid to tell her story, and her one-woman show pulls no punches.”
NewYorkTheatre.com: “A very powerful, unique experience… I sat through most of the play with my jaw dropped in shock. [Damante] is so ferocious, so determined, so full of Duende.”
VENUE: The New Collective (MAINSTAGE) 6440 Santa Monica Blvd.
