Urban Theatre Movement Presents:
Urban Unrest Play Festival.
A Hollywood Fringe 2017 Production

BLACK BOX @ SACRED FOOLS THEATRE CO.
LOS ANGELES, CA. (April 1, 2017) – Urban Theatre Movement is one of Los Angeles most ethnically diverse theatre companies. Multi-disciplined artists from all parts of the world call Urban Theatre Movement their artistic home. UTM is a multi cultural collective of artists dedicated to producing original and published work, while creating accessible art, and life changing experiences through innovative theatre that serves and mirrors our rich and diverse inner-city communities. We aim to nurture, support, and encourage under-served young artists in order to give them voice and hone their potential, starting at their most vulnerable stages in life. We will channel their cultural and regional roots to create a more productive and enlightened society. Urban Unrest begins its run on Sunday, June 4th – June 24th at Black Box @ Sacred Fools Theatre Company.

ABOUT URBAN THEATRE MOVEMENT
Since it’s inception in 2010 when co-founders Paul Tully and Brenda Banda decided to start a theatre company that better reflected who they and their friends were as artists, and seeing a lack of diversity in the theatre community, Urban Theatre Movement Has strived to produce theatre that is reflective of who they are as individuals, and as an artist collective. Now in their 7th season, UTM has produced 4 Published plays, including the Los Angeles Revival of Miguel Piñero’s Short Eyes, 5 Original Productions, including 2016’s Blood Match by Oliver Mayer, an adaptation of Federico Garcia Lorca’s Blood Wedding, its annual Urban Legends One Act festival, which birthed a full length version of Paul Tully’s One Act play Replica which was world premiered in 2015, The Ivy League Improv Troupe, and Alex Alpharaoh’s SP!T: Spoken Word Theatre, which was birthed at UTM.
