Creator of the 2014 Hollywood Fringe Hit “The Wake” Returns with a Brand New Two-Hander

Los Angeles (June 6, 2016) – Two strangers’ carpool from Los Angeles to Sacramento unravels after they decide to try to extort money from a Department of Motor Vehicles bribery scheme headquartered in Bakersfield.

A blistering dark comedy about the odds of reaching your destination when self-destruction is riding shotgun, “TILT” is a world premiere play by Ben Moroski, creator of the 2014 Hollywood Fringe solo hit “The Wake.” “TILT” stars Moroski alongside another award-winning Hollywood Fringe veteran, Michael Shaw Fisher, creator of the 2015 solo hit “Shakespeare’s Last Night Out.”

TILT” is the third play – and first non-solo venture – from writer and actor Ben Moroski to make its world premiere at the Hollywood Fringe Festival. His first solo play, “This Vicious Minute” (Best of Fringe), which chronicled his battle with self-injury, received its world premiere at the festival in 2012, winning over critics and audiences alike and garnering a nomination for Best Solo Show. Two years later, he returned to the Hollywood Fringe with another solo play, “The Wake,” which won Best Solo Show at the 2014 festival, was named Best Solo Performance at the 2014 “Stage Raw” Los Angeles Theatre Awards and, that same year, garnered an unprecedented nomination for Best Solo Performance at the Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Awards.

Michael Shaw Fisher is an actor and writer of musicals in Los Angeles. His latest, “Shakespeare’s Last Night Out,” won the Top of Fringe and Best Solo Show awards at the 2015 Hollywood Fringe Festival and received nominations for Best Solo Performance and Best Original Music at the 2015 Stage Raw Los Angeles Theatre Awards. As Artistic Director of Orgasmico Theatre Company, Michael penned and performed in the Ovation-nominated, Best Fringe Musical-winning “Doomsday Cabaret” (2012) and the Best Fringe Musical-winning “Exorcistic: the Rock Musical Parody Experiment” (2013). His latest musical, “Skulduggery: The Musical Prequel to Hamlet,” will premiere at Sacred Fools Theater Company this fall.

TILT” is directed by Nick Massouh, who previously directed both of Ben Moroski’s award-winning solo plays, “This Vicious Minute” and “The Wake.” Nick is a director, actor, improviser and a founding company member of the critically acclaimed Impro Theatre.
