“Ruby” is a sexy, silly, satirical early-70’s-style musical that takes place in the Magical Land Of “Aaahhs…”

From the creator of 2015’s sold-out run of “Sin: A Pop Opera” and 2009’s hit musical, “Ecstasy” comes the story of Ruby (veteran actress Christina Rose), a self-described nerd who is frustrated with her love life until she meets her sexy, sassy fairy godmother “Glendale” (powerhouse vocalist and star of “Sin,” Saudia Yasmein). Ruby takes a trip back in time to the free-wheeling early “Brady Bunch”-era 1970s where she meets three versions of her boyfriend “Tommy” (veteran performer Christopher Robert Smith, also from “Sin”). Will she find true love, or just a lot of sex? Will she find out life was better on this side of the rainbow after all?

Filled with singing, dancing, fun characters, crazy costumes, ridiculously infectious musical numbers, animation, risqué dancing and even puppets, “Ruby” is a raucous romp that tips an affectionate stiletto heel to early 70s variety specials and TV shows (Brady Bunch, HR Pufnstuf, Sonny and Cher) and the obscure “naughty fairy tales for adults” 70s film genre (“Alice In Wonderland,” “Cinderella”). It features eye-popping costumes and visuals, homages to musicals from the 70s (“The Wiz,” “Pippin” “Rocky Horror”) and sensual choreography by Kirby Harrell, with Evalee Gertz and Christine Jung in the dance ensemble.

A literal “dream project” of producer/writer/composer/musician/animator S. Claus (scottclaus.com), “Ruby” makes its world premiere at the annual Hollywood Fringe Festival in June of 2016 and is playing at The Three Clubs theater space for seven dates in June.
