It happened, it all worked out, and they’re not ashamed! That’s why they are opening up their lives in “P is for Pink, B is for Boobs,” a woman-centric night of adult-storytelling premiering at the 2015 Hollywood Fringe Festival for two nights – Friday, June 12, and Saturday, June 13, 10 p.m. shows both nights. All performances will be held at the Stephanie Feury Theatre, 5636 Melrose Ave, Los Angeles, CA. (http://hff15.org/2539).
“Pink/Boobs” features narratives about sexuality and healing. Rated-R for strong language and nudity (KIDDING…language will be tamed), our storytellers will loot their lives and share the wealth. Produced by Unshackled Productions, “Pink/Boobs” storytellers believe in healing that comes via raw transparency. Through the power of story, they promise to offer resurrected hopes that, despite prostitution, breast cancer and heartache from failed relationships, it all works out in the end.
One storyteller will share about the day she answered a newspaper ad to make $1,000/day. Turns out the ad was a job posting for a call girl. Also turns out she was VERY good at this gig, emitting “pink light” and discovering the power of touch. Another comedic storyteller is a breast cancer survivor who is so proud of her new boobs that she’s seriously considering performing topless (we’ll ALL know what she decides by showtime). Another storyteller has a lush narrative about her heterosexual lover/sorority sister, while the remaining storytellers will discuss body image and failed relationships.
An extra bonus includes a Saturday morning storytelling workshop on the art of looting your life for those risque moments and turning them into stories you can share without shame. The workshop is scheduled for Saturday, June 13, 11:00 a.m., at the Stephanie Feury Theatre, and will be facilitated by one of the “Pink/Boobs” master-storytellers.
