“Fuck You Jason or Medea by Euripides”
Hollywood, CA (June, 2015,) an adaptation of one of the world’s greatest plays, Medea written by Euripides. June 7th (PRESS PREVIEW, Pay What You Can) at 4pm, 13th (PWYC) at 7pm, 15th at 10pm, 19th at 7pm, 21st at 7pm, 25th (Pay What You Can) at 11:55 pm, and closing June 28th at 2:30pm. All shows are 70 minutes and $10 unless otherwise noted.

Medea is a woman scorned when her husband Jason takes a new wife, King Creon’s daughter. As the original “gone-girl,” Medea has many talents of revenge and plans to avenge her broken heart on all who wronged her. Set in an unknown time and place in the style of a graphic novel, “Fuck You Jason or Medea by Euripides” is sure to entertain the Hollywood Fringe Festival 2015 audience.

Now in its twelfth year, BLJ Productions, formerly known as Lumpy-Cramp© Productions, is dedicated to producing original, bold, and imaginative events that explore an alternative to the normal theatrical scene and stretching the regular definition of political theatre or using art for politics. Its 2003 event ”America’s Sexual Mastication,” opened to a standing room only audience and launched the careers of Benny Lee Harris Lumpkins Jr,. Originally based in Norfolk, VA BLJ Productions, has retooled and relocated to Los Angeles.

Directed, adapted, designed and produced by Benny Lee Harris Lumpkins Jr., Fuck You Jason or Medea by Euripides, will premiere this June as part of the 2015 Hollywood Fringe Festival. The festival serves as “an annual celebration of emerging artists in Los Angeles” – hollywoodfringe.org and runs June 11 – 28. Cast includes, Lesli Harad as Medea, Alex Bennett as Jason, Daniela Pompeu as The Nurse, and Micheal Hutchinson as Creon also with Kate Sorice, Valeria Rifici and Lori Mulligan as the Greek Chorus.
