Boss: The Untold Tony Danza Story debuts as part of the 2014 Hollywood Fringe Festival Line-up
The comedy loosely based on the early life and career of Tony Danza, opens June 14th at Complex Theaters in Hollywood.
Los Angeles, CA (June, 2014): Boss: The Untold Tony Danza Story makes its debut during the 2014 Hollywood Fringe Theatre Festival exclusively at the Complex Theaters in Hollywood. The fictional biography is based on the early life and career of America’s favorite son and national treasure, Tony Danza. Written and performed by actors Damien Luvara and Jennifer Monce, and directed by Michelle Thorn, Boss opens June 14th at 9:30 p.m.
“A producer once pitched Damien to the Lifetime network as the star in a Tony Danza biopic but was told Tony Danza’s life wasn’t dramatic enough, which gave Damien the “what if” needed to spawn the idea for an “untold” Tony Danza story,” said director Michelle Thorn.
Tony, played by Damien Luvara, having been a huge star on Taxi suddenly finds himself out of a job and looking for work in this off-the-cuff comedy about Danza’s early career life. After finding fame on the small screen as Tony Banta, the sweet-natured and somewhat dimwitted cab driver, on Taxi, Tony finds himself out of a job and looking for work. A strange man makes him an offer he can’t refuse, but how much is Tony willing to sacrifice in order to regain his fame?
The cast shines in this fictional comedic biography, which explores the nature of the entertainment industry and how far some people will go to achieve success in it. Starring Damien Luvara, Jennifer Monce, Meghan Parks, Christopher Schram, Jordan Rennick, Christopher Mowod, Hannah Kanengieter, and Gabriel Rissa.

Additionally, Luvara has appeared in films such as Holes and Dia De Los Muertos starring Danny Trejo.
