AMMO June 5 – June 28 Fierce Backbone – Lounge Theatres

Fierce Backbone presents the world premiere of AMMO, a dark comedy written by Jeremy Kehoe, directed by Jeffrey Wylie. With 300 million people—and 300 million guns—orbiting each other like good, bad and ugly ingredients in a spaghetti-Western Mexican stand-off, the barrel of a gun is almost certain to nuzzle its nose into the everyday lives of ordinary Americans. AMMO tells the tale of four uniquely American gun-centric stories with each vignette layered in content, circumstance and time, mirroring the randomness of gun violence itself. Their only link? That of “gun” as protagonist. Tickets $12. http://www.hollywoodfringe.org/1819. 323-455-4585.Lounge Theatres at 6201 Santa Monica Blvd., Hollywood 90038. Ages 18+ https://www.facebook.com/fiercebackbone .

The cast features the talents of Andrew Blackwood, Holger Moncada, Jr., Ty Lowell, Drew McAuliffe, Andrew Preston and Frank Stasio.

The running time is 75 minutes.

About FIERCE BACKBONE
2014 is Fierce Backbone’s 7th year developing plays and people for the stage in Los Angeles. Fierce Backbone’s Play Lab meets every Monday night, exploring new works while engaging in lively discussions to serve each individual play.
Over the past year, they’ve produced a daring show called The Beating and the critically acclaimed A Good Grief. Both developed and honed through the collaboration of Fierce artists. Our artists have also been seen on the big and small screen, become published novelists, and had plays developed at Fierce performed on stages all over the country. Their big coming out party was in the 2012 Fringe with a series of 7 shows — 4 one acts and 3 short collections. The acclaim was loud indeed! Out of that Fringe Festival’s offerings, Gentle Passage won Best New Drama (and just last month won Best Play at the GLAAD Festival in Chicago), Flesh Eating Tiger was named 2012 Best of Fringe, was nominated for Best In Theater, and went on to tour across the country, and Texas Loves Lyla! won Best Solo Show and not only went on tour but also was asked to return to the festival in 2013.
Our creative doors are always open to like-minded artists who want to join us or simply pay a visit every now and then. Throughout the year, Fierce Backbone serves more than 100 actors, playwrights, directors, designers and technical/support staff in the presentation of new work for the stage. We believe there is room for all artistic voices and all talents when the spirit of collaboration is shared.
