Divergent Theatre Presents the World Premiere of
Bullet in Your Hand

Los Angeles (May 19, 2014) – Divergent Theatre is pleased to announce the launch of its 2014 season with the world premiere of BULLET IN YOUR HAND by Washington D.C. playwright, Chris Stezin, directed by ensemble member Dustin Loomis, playing June 10, 21, 22, and 25 at The East Theatre at The Complex, 6468 W. Santa Monica Blvd. in the West Hollywood area. Tickets are on sale at www.DivergentTheatre.com. The press performance is Tuesday, June 10 at 8:00 pm.

About the Play
How far would you go to get revenge? When a man discovers the infidelity of his girlfriend, his plan for retaliation takes an unexpected turn. Bullet in Your Hand takes a look inside this twisted love triangle and the things a person is willing to do for love.

About the Playwright
Chris Stezin is a writer and actor who lives in Northern Virginia. His plays have been produced at Washington D.C.’s Charter Theater, where he served as Associate Artistic Director for ten years, and other D.C. area theaters. He has received commissions from the National Conservatory of Dramatic Arts, the University of Minnesota, and the Guthrie Theater and has twice been nominated for the Helen Hayes/Charles MacArthur Award for outstanding new play in Washington, D.C. His screenplay Sleeping and Waking, which he adapted from the stage play, was produced by Tontine Films in 2009 and received a limited theatrical release. He is currently the writer in residence at First Draft, a new play development company based in Virginia.

About the Director
Dustin Loomis is originally from New Mexico. He began his career in theatre but has relocated to Los Angeles to pursue a career in film and television. Regional theatre credits: Proposals, Write Me A Murder, Lying In State, and Sherlock Holmes: The Final Adventure (Totem Pole Playhouse); Unnecessary Farce with (Wayside Theatre); Much Ado About Nothing (Everyman Theatre); Rough Magic (Rorschach Theatre); Twelfth Night and A Christmas Carol (Cumberland Theatre); May 39th by Callie Kimball in the inaugural Capital Fringe Festival; and To Kill a Mockingbird (FireBelly Productions). Film and television credits include: Tice, Tosh.O, The Mondays, The Zom-B Team, Blind Date, and Parenting the Spartan Way. Dustin is a 2005 graduate of the National Conservatory of Dramatic Arts Advanced Acting Program, where he appeared as Todd in the premiere of Late Bloomers and Glory Days, and Reverend Larence in Impossible Marriage.
