Hollywood, CA. – May 9, 2013 – DogParkTheatre Company bursts on to the Hollywood Fringe scene with the darkly comedic world premier one act, APERTURE—a multimedia production examining the consequences of one man’s paranoia through a surreal and twisted 4:00 am slide show on skid row in downtown L.A. APERTURE will open as part of the Hollywood Fringe Festival on June 8 and continue to run Saturdays at the Elephant Stages Studio through June 29. (Please note: Ages 17+ for language and thematic material) Written by Jesse Janzen and directed by Bridgette Jeanne Campbell. APERTURE is a thrilling psychological power struggle between George, a man grappling with his fears of infidelity, and JR, a haunted photographer George hires to follow his fiancée whom he suspects of cheating. George’s paranoia leads him to JR’s eerie warehouse where he’s subjected to a surreal 4:00 am slide show of his fiancée’s night out and becomes a pawn in JR’s scheme to uncover a larger truth. APERTURE explores the consequences of paranoia as well as the moral ambiguity of modern infidelity on stage and through a camera’s lens in this multimedia experience.

DogParkTheatre Company is in its inaugural year. At the helm is Christopher Wallinger from Chicago’s venerated Organic Theatre Company and Bridgette Jeanne Campbell, previously with Theatre of NOTE where she produced Jacqueline Wright’s “Have You Seen Alice?” DogPark’s mission is to produce original works by LA playwrights and recreate classics with casts particular to the diversity of Los Angeles and California. Future plans to open a year round outdoor theatre space are in the works.
