Fresh from its hit run at the London and Hamilton Fringe Theatre Festivals, Savory Entertainment in cooperation with The Winchester Kitchen presents Dairy-Free Love; the play that leaves you wanting seconds – a one-woman comedy directed by Susan Wilby and starring Victoria Murdoch – as it returns to Toronto for ten shows. (Nov 26th – Dec 23rd. All shows 8pm. 51A Winchester St, Toronto)

Meet Dawn! Hostess of nightly Internet cooking show “Dawn’s Delights,” and married to handsome but absent cruise ship captain Kalum, Dawn loves domestic life, and does her best to maintain the values (and appearance!) of a perfect 1950’s housewife. But Dawn has a secret: tonight is the five-year anniversary of the last time she left the house, and her slowly simmering life is about to reach a boil!

This clever blend of comedy and drama takes the shape of a cooking demonstration, featuring Toronto actress Victoria Murdoch as Dawn, preparing three dairy and gluten-free dishes live onstage (ingredients provided by The Sweet Potato & Cosimo’s nofrills) while sharing laugh-out-loud stories and touching personal discoveries. The audience will laugh and cry as Dawn invites you into her home, her life, and her heart. Dairy-Free Love is an emotionally fulfilling treat that will leave you wanting seconds! Dairy-Free Love was written by actress Victoria Murdoch, and was inspired by her experiences living with gluten/lactose intolerance.

“Dairy-free means making a substitution so something is more digestible. Dairy-Free Love is about a woman who is unable to cope with, or digest, real life. She creates her own little bubble that allows her to exist, but she’s had enough of the trap she’s created for herself. Dawn is finally ready for a change, and that’s where the play begins.”

Admission is $15 + $30/$45(+tax) pre-fix dinner option – Tickets at dairyfreelove.com
Dairy-Free Love is for mature audiences.
