In the new original play, “Back to You: A Dear John (Mayer) Letter,” singer John Mayer remembers back to his
pre-celebrity days when life at 18 was about playing music, pumping gas and exploring the ups and downs of young love.

John Mayer’s a “douchebag.” Everyone knows it. He knows it. Tired of his tabloid tenure as Hollywood’s “Mr. Wrong”, he sets out to find his long-lost Japanese summer school love, Rihanna (no, not that one) to right his romantic mistakes. Inevitable hijinks ensue when Rihanna’s pals, Carly, an aspiring singer, and Calvin, a wannabe celeb blogger, learn of their friend’s secret ex-boyfriend and realize their own artistic careers could benefit from a Mayer-iffic meeting, and then do everything in their power to make it happen—even if it means creating a “Heartbreak Warfare.”
