Robot Monster the Musical

chris bramante · June 17, 2017 uncertified reviewer
I couldn't look away....ROBOT MONSTER was unlike anything I've seen at Fringe this year and I found myself enthralled. The performer who plays ROY throws himself into his role and never takes his foot off the pedal. Some of the musical numbers refuse to get out of my head. WOULD YOU TAKE ME BY THE HAND BY THE HAAAAND. WOULD YOU HIRE A BAND?! ... full review

PSYCHOSICAL: an asylum cabaret

Ranging from raucous to rocking to rollicking to dismal to dreary, Psychosical reminds its captive audiences that we all might have a few more screws loose than perhaps we like to think we do. Through the lens of a jukebox musical, 2 Cents tells their story only through familiar popular music and carries us along for the duration of the play by the sheer force of fantastic vocalists. ... full review

STUPID SONGS!!

chris bramante · June 16, 2015 uncertified reviewer
“Stupid Songs” shimmers with the staggering brilliance of Keri Safran, her absurdly gifted cast and masterful musicians. This assortment of euphonious madness contains every shade of stupidity from grippingly vulgar to adorably innocent. Dan Wessels is a melodious monarch who is kind but firm in his rule as musical director and the composition of the original tunes is anything but stupid. It's complex, creative and constantly enthralling. Go see it! ... full review

Getting to Know You

This experience is an improvisor’s dream. No performance is the same and the remarkable cast is fully prepared to improvise off of however you choose to interact with them. “Getting To Know You” brings impressive life to these varied storylines and leaves you with a feeling of delightful bewilderment. Kudos to Annie Lesser and her extradorinary actors for this gem. ... full review
