Kate Muir

Kate Muir (Director)

Kate began her career performing in Musicals and Plays across various venues of the UK spanning 13 years, since 2005 Kate has concentrated solely on the production side of live Theatre and the Arts.

In early 2005 Kate ventured to open her own Theatrical Production Company, which boasted a host of successful shows, concerts and tours.
Kate worked as Producer and Assistant Director on a number of these productions. For example, the 3 sell-out tours of The Queen and Ben Elton Musical ‘We Will Rock You’, Stephen Sondheim’s ‘Putting it Together’, ‘Now Let’s Rock – A Celebration of Song and Dance’, ‘Spring Awakening’ and the hugely popular ‘Wild, Wild Women’
After the success of ‘Wild, Wild Women’ Kate went on to direct shows such as ‘Cabaret’, ‘Fame’, ‘We Will Rock You (Youth)’, ’ Rent’ and ‘La Cage aux Folles’ at the same time as working in Technical Theatre alongside Jordon Productions and International Artists such as Barbara Dixon, Val Doonican, Tony Christie and Derek Acorah.

The Mahalo Theatre Collective approached Kate to find a script that would not only enthral the audience but challenge the Actors and push them to the extremes. After months of research “The Audition” seemed liked the perfect piece of visual theatre for these two inspiring actors, one that would not only challenge their talents in various different states of emotion through insecurities, fears, loneliness and sexual tension, but would also prove to be a rewarding, memorable and poignant piece for her as a Director, Kate hopes that this piece will ensure the audience leave captivated and wanting more.
