THE OUTDOOR VOICES FESTIVAL "CONVERSATION CREATION" AWARD

Sponsored by That's What She Didn't Say

Description

This award will be given to a show that helps to create a healthy conversation about a challenging topic- this can be done in a literal way- i.e. a show that focuses on a serious topic like sexual violence, mental illness, politics, etc… or it can be done through satire, movement, or any other outside of the box presentation.

The Outdoor Voices Festival is in its third year and is a product of non-profit campaign That’s What She Didn’t Say. Our mission is to help create healthy conversations through the arts.

Qualifications

Shows should have an element that falls into the theme of creating a healthy conversation about a challenging or taboo topic.

Methodology

The winner should:
1. Tackle an important and worthy topic.
2. Address said topic in a creative and innovative way
3. Teach us without making us feel like we are learning. TED talks are wonderful, but the most powerful theatre doesn’t feel educational, yet lets us walk away wiser and more aware.

Reward

Statuette, Acceptance into the third annual Outdoor Voices Festival, taking place this Winter in Hollywood.

(The festival is curated and takes place over two weekends every year- shows are accepted after a thorough application process in order to keep quality high and content relevant.)
