With our history, we know that juggling rehearsal conflicts, production needs, and the drama that comes with producing live theatre is no easy task! SOARING SOLO ARTIST AWARD
Soaring Solo LLC & Whitefire Theatre appreciate the courage and creativity it takes to perform a one person play. That said, they would like to recognize and celebrate excellence in solo theatre within the Hollywood Fringe Community this June 2018.
Founder & CEO of Soaring Solo LLC & Solofest Co-producer at Whitefire Theatre, Jessica Lynn Johnson, will use her 13+ years in the genre of solo theatre as a published playwright, Board member & Submission Screening Panelist of the LA Women’s Theatre Festival, and full-time solo theatre Director & Dramaturge to handpick one very special solo artist to Encore their winning solo show as part of the largest solo theatre festival on the West Coast, Whitefire Theatre’s SOLOFEST 2019.

THE 2018 O FACE AWARD FOR ORGASMIC ACHIEVEMENT
It is with great excitement that we announce 6th Annual the Orgasmico Theatre Company’s O FACE AWARD for Orgasmic Achievement! Now…you may be wondering what we exactly mean by "orgasmic”…
Here’s a quote:
“Great spiritual teachers throughout the ages have stated that orgasm is the closest some people come to a spiritual experience because of the momentary loss of self. Why is this true? Because with spiritual sex, you move beyond orgasm into a connection with yourself, your partner, and the divine — recognizing them all as one.”

Our Goal: We at Orgasmico Theatre Company would like to single out one performer to receive our O Face Award for forging a connection between artist, audience and the divine, bringing all three together in an explosive* theatrical experience that transcends convention and can only be regarded as “Orgasmic.”
Details about the award:
The “Orgasmic Performer” could be from any fringe category (comedy, drama, solo, musical, physical theatre etc…) Direction, design and ensemble achievement are all contributing factors of a great show, but ultimately we seek a mad priest/priestess who seduces the audience, unites them intimately with the character they are playing, and doesn’t just bring the whole theatrical ritual to the edge of climax but hurls us over, and as we the audience falls faster and faster into the story being told, our faces take on the shape of the letter “O.”
THE BEST OF THE BROADWATER AWARD
For those productions who chose The Broadwater as their venue, now The Broadwater gets to choose YOU! The First Annual Best of The Broadwater Award will celebrate a select few Hollywood Fringe productions that have performed at The Broadwater and really made us proud due to their high level of artistry and excellence. Who wouldn’t want to have their show extended at one of the most desired theatres on Theatre Row rent free?? Furthermore the winners will NOT have to pay The Broadwater any portion of their ticket sales for said-extension. Yes, it’s true.
This award allows The Broadwater give back to those who are breaking ground, moving hearts, and bringing down the house in our world of vital intimate theatre. Here’s how it works. All winners will receive a statuette and certificate at the Hollywood Fringe Festival Closing Night Ceremony and be immediately offered the opportunity to extend their show into the Best of The Broadwater Weekend set to immediately follow the 2018 Fringe during the last weekend of June. The Best of the Broadwater Opening Reception (Thursday, June 28th) will be a red carpet event held at the Broadwater Plunge, our brand new full service bar, and will put a special spotlight on those select winners. Who knows? This further exposure could potentially provide the winners with further avenues to take their work!

THE HOLLYWOOD ENCORE PRODUCERS AWARD
The Hollywood Encore Producer Awards represent the best of the Hollywood Fringe selected by venue producers, based on artistic merit and commercial potential. The extensions immediately follow the HFF2018 and run through July in participating fringe venues. Shows receive valuable extensions giving them the opportunity for additional audience, press, awards and extensions.
This year we’re excited to be working with the NYC Encore Series in helping them select shows for their festival later this year.
THE INKWELL PLAYWRIGHT'S PROMISE AWARD
The Inkwell Theater Development LAB is excited to present the fourth annual Playwright’s Promise Award at the 2018 Hollywood Fringe Festival. The Playwright’s Promise Award recognizes the writer of a Fringe production. It is based on the play itself, not necessarily the production.
THE OUTDOOR VOICES FESTIVAL "CONVERSATION CREATION" AWARD
This award will be given to a show that helps to create a healthy conversation about a challenging topic- this can be done in a literal way- i.e. a show that focuses on a serious topic like sexual violence, mental illness, politics, etc… or it can be done through satire, movement, or any other outside of the box presentation.
The Outdoor Voices Festival is in its third year and is a product of non-profit campaign That’s What She Didn’t Say. Our mission is to help create healthy conversations through the arts.
THE RIPEST SHOW
Cherry Poppins lives for breaking the fourth wall in an immersive non theatrical way. The production that makes you forget you are sitting in a traditional theatre watching a story take place without them, wins the Cherry Poppins Ripest Show Award!
THE STEVE KENT AWARD
Named after co-founder of the legendary Company Theatre, the late Steve Kent, who believed that theatre was a tool for social and political change. The Steve Kent Award is given a piece of theatre that uses their art for to create political or social change within an individual and their community.
THE UNLEASHED AWARD
The Unleashed Award is given to the ensemble show at the Hollywood Fringe Festival that best embodies the mission of Theatre Unleashed. We are looking for ensemble shows that pursue the art of good storytelling, while pushing artistic ambitions beyond restraints.
THE UPCYCLERS' SUSTAINABILITY AWARD
Does your company, production, or art include green practices, or promote environmental issues?
The Upcyclers along with The Zoo Theatre Co. are committed to creating socially provocative work that confronts challenges in the world such as climate change and sustainability. The Zoo has upheld green theatre practices since it’s inception, and has created The Upcyclers, which is both a new musical as well community outreach organization to inspire sustainable change in our culture.
TPP'S TROPE-BUSTER!
Theatrical Productions at Fringe festivals are often designed to flip, reimagine and subvert the standard narrative tropes that more traditional productions generate.
TPP’s Trope-Buster! is an award designed to recognize the production each year that forces us to re-examine tropes in the most unique and/or unusual way. Whether immersive or traditional in nature, the Trope-Buster production will inspire, motivate and force the audience to contemplate stories from a new, revised perspective.
Shocking ideas. Unique approaches. Repurposed narratives. If you’re breaking new ground with your production in how your audience views your story, you just might be a Trope-Buster!
