THE STEVE KENT AWARD

Description
Named after co-founder of the legendary Company Theatre, the late Steve Kent, who believed that theatre was a tool for social and political change. The Steve Kent Award is given a piece of theatre that uses their art for to create political or social change within an individual and their community.
Qualifications
In order to qualify each show must submit a mission statement of each show (what they want the audience to take away from the show). The production must also deal with topics involving either political or social evolution within a community.
Methodology
The Rough Riders Theatre Cavalry is a calvary of theatre artists who will watch each of the productions, from there we will choose a winner based on who is the most bold* and effective in delivering their message.
*Bold can mean anything from an eighteen person immersive theatre experience to a minimalistic one man show.
Reward
There will be a trophy awarded to the winner.
