Rebecca is a young soap actress who lends some of her ample free time to the memory care patients in an assisted living home. She comes face to face with aging, memory loss and the dignity of dying. She tries to make them feel at ease in their confusion by pretending to be characters from their pasts. In her journeys down memory lane, Rebecca meets Carla, the No Nonsense Nurse in Charge. Rebecca the dreamer and Carla the fighter have to figure out how to deal with each other as they care for the old and the infirm. The Kindness of Strangers explores what it means to be young and unsure of yourself, to be old and forget yourself, and whether or not we ever know who we are.
