My overall impression

I thought Gimplecapped was witty, thoughtful and occasionally edgy. Not ROTF funny – more wry observational humor. The sketch format kept the show moving at a nice speed. The video opening and closing were clever. I also thought the cast was well-chosen and engaging.

It would be intriguing to see this show refined and further developed, perhaps on a stage where the production standards could be tweaked up. I think there is room for the co-writers to reorder, polish and tighten a couple of the sketches, and maybe add one or two more to expand the range of disabilities presented. For example, a blind cast member might have a place in one of the existing sketches, as well as one devoted to the world of the sight-impaired. Since the show does not require extensive scenery or props, it could travel easily to regional black box venues as a road show.

I also think there might be an interesting adaptation of this show to a series of video shorts.
