I thought Gimplecapped was witty, thoughtful and occasionally edgy. Not ROTF funny - more wry observational humor. The sketch format kept the show moving at a nice speed. The video opening and closing were clever. I also thought the cast was well-chosen and engaging. It would be intriguing to see this show refined and further developed, perhaps on a stage where the production standards could be tweaked up. I think there is room for the co-writers to reorder, polish and tighten a couple of the sketches, and maybe add one or two more to expand the range of disabilities presented. For example, a blind cast member might have a place in one of the existing sketches, as well as one devoted to the world of the sight-impaired. Since the show does... full review

When a show can get you to laugh and think, it's on the right track. When it can get you to think about why you're laughing, and laugh at why you're thinking, it's on an even better one. Do yourself a favor and see this show. ... full review

Funny! Great show! A series of quickly paced scenes that show the rest us what it is like to be "other-abled". I laughed out loud many times and learned what someone else's journey in life is like. I Highly Recommend!... full review

Gimplecapped! So. Much. Fun. Such an awesome, intriguing, unique way to look at disability in our daily lives, and in everyones' daily lives! Gimplecapped applies to everyone and everyone can enjoy this show. Short little vignettes keep the action moving forward and each one of them has their own little twist and makes you rethink your generalizations of disabilities. There's singing and dancing and you even get to be in a game show! Fun, touching, heartwarming, and generous - you'll have a great time at this show. And learn a little bit about yourself in the process.... full review

Irreverent, brutally honest and HYSTERICAL! Gimplecapped is so brilliantly written and nimbly performed with such ease and grace that you are never hit over the head with a "Message" but leave feeling better for watching the show. Like the spoon full of sugar or broccoli hidden in your child's pizza, Gimplecapped truly is "a Journey of Inspiration" whose smartly written satire keeps you laughing and cringing so much that you never realize you're being educated. I can say nothing but good things about this show! Please go see it before it disappears! ... full review

Dear Regan Linton and Laura Alsum, you are such an inspiration. No seriously, if I leave a show actively wanting to work with people that’s pretty damn inspiring. This series of sardonic sketches by Linton and Alsum explores the plight of the gimplecapped (a portmanteau of gimp, crippled, and handicapped) mainly in interactions with often well-meaning non-disabled people. Some moments need re-working and fine-tuning but for the most part Sore Thumb Group has put together a collection of hilariously poignant sketches. Perhaps the best is “Restraint” where Linton shows restraint with daily interactions while her inner voice tells it like it is in great over-the-top fashion. So thank you “Gimplecapped” crew for not being afraid to be o... full review
