THE PEOPLEHOOD PRESENT JAISEY BATES' "REAL TIME" AT THE 2011 HOLLYWOOD FRINGE FESTIVAL

"Real Time"

view project

From June 12-25, as part of the 2011 Hollywood Fringe Festival, The Peoplehood present Jaisey Bates’ “Real Time”.

Each “Real Time” performance is a world premiere celebrating what we share in common, beneath our ‘social skins.’ A unique combination of mini-plays, improvisation, spoken word and one-acts, “Real Time” integrates several languages, audience participation and a range of characters including Frankenstein, an unborn child in 1873 South Africa, a Sarajevan cellist, American Civil War soldiers, a lost Zapotec girl, a Surfer Romeo, an extremely chipper TV set, Shakespeare-in-the-Hood, The Man in the Maze, and others.

“Jaisey Bates’ writing is exciting, poetic, philosophical, and stands tall with a distinctly Native American backbone. Don’t miss this combustible collection of new plays!” —Abbie Bosworth, Program Director, Playwrights @ The Loft.
