Billy Minshall is an actor and writer who has appeared on several television shows, including NBC’s Chicago P.D. Film credits include the acclaimed indie feature Tom of Your Life (2020). He has a starring role in “Ripper Was Here,” a forthcoming short film directed by Emmy-award winning director Joel Kazuo Knoernschild. Billy is perhaps best known as Ben Franklin in a series of national commercials for Benjamin Franklin Plumbing. Mr. Minshall is a graduate of Northwestern University, and earned his MFA in Fiction Writing from the University of California-Riverside. Billy’s fiction and essays have appeared in literary journals and magazines, and his short story “Snowman” was anthologized in The Dark Waves of Winter, a collection of “surf-noir” short stories published by Kelp Books in 2023.
