Loved the great ability to go back and forth between her Melia character and the ratched bully character. Also love all of the Oakland references, hip hop lyrics, … Oh, also loved making Tupac the fairy godfather!
What I didn't like
Not being in the industry, and as an audience member, i don’t feel quite equipped to critique. But maybe the dad/parental part could have either been further involved, or just the scripting/character/portrayal/relationship with dad or parents a tiny bit deeper??
My overall impression
Melia is such a talent! 60 minutes of great entertainment, confidently portraying to her audience a realistic and authentic image and experience of growing up in the suburbs as a young black hip hop enthusiast, as I was likewise :)
