A Bella Incarceration is storytelling at its best. Ann Noble takes on the journey of Bella with consummate elegance using quotes from writers Emma Goldman, Dorothy Day and Nellie Bly. I had no expectations and was left standing at the end of such a delicate work. In the words of Nellie Bly- "I have never written a word that did not come from my heart", the same can be said in regards to Ann Noble's writing of A Bella Incarceration. Kudos to you Ann Noble and all those involved in this work. It was a great Tuesday night for me.... full review

Serio-comedic, Clowning, Literary Heroes, Deeply Moving, Cerebral and Riveting are the first few words that come to my mind when reflecting on the solo show presented by Ann Noble and her alter ego, Bella Ventricle!! A prison, whether self-inflicted or otherwise, wreaks havoc on the psyche and fighting the good fight (aka, saving a tree here and there), dishes out a price to be paid once the damage is assessed. Poor Bella just wants out and has to figure out the best way to earn her freedom. You can't help but caught up in the storytelling of this masterclass level performer doing what she does best - captivating an audience one puppet/dance/character at a time! BRAVO!!... full review

The best of Fringe and a master class in solo performance. A Bella Incarceration is a smart, soulful, hilarious and beautiful work that will leave you in tears and thinking for days. An achievement!... full review

A masterclass in one-person shows. A talented craftsperson at the very top of their game. A must-see spectacular of emotions and vulnerability. Ann had us all in the palm of her hand and left me cheering for more. Dealing with themes of self-delusion and being trapped, highlights the idea that, for each of us, Hell is only locked from the inside and we are only as trapped as we believe we are.... full review

An unexpectedly raw, emotional clown show about women's liberation and the ways one can (ahem) feel "short" of revolution. A clever use of motifs, visuals, and movement examining freedom, in the mind, heart and body. ... full review

Ann brings so much color to everything she does and A Bella Incarceration was a joy to experience. I found myself taken in and nodding in agreement at the truths she brought to light. She gifts her audience with so many personalities and shades of herself that you wonder by the end if you truly just saw a one woman show.... full review

Highly recommended. Captivating, funny, touching one-person show. As the show goes on, Ann keeps peeling back the onion revealing more and more layers, exposing more of herself.... full review
