Therese Olson

THERESE OLSON is a classically trained actor-singer, writer, editor, & youth theatre arts and language arts teacher. She has worked as a performing artist in North America, Western Europe, Great Britain, and Cuba. US Stage Credits include: Anna Karenina in Anna Karenina, James A. Little Theatre, Ariel in The Tempest, Powerhouse Theatre, Eurydice in Eurydice, Fusion Theatre Company; and Marta in Company, Santa Fe Rep, while favorite international roles under British Actors’ Equity include Billie H alt. & young Maya A in The Billie Holiday Story, Theatre Productions Ltd and Grace & Dragonfly in A Date With Destiny, Ovalhouse Theatre. A member of SAG-AFTRA, her TV and Film appearances include: Crash on Starz TV (Dennis Hopper), Sundance film The Dry Land (America Ferrera, Wilmer Valderrama) and Touchstone Pictures Swing Vote (Kevin Costner).

Therese trained at Vassar College-NY Stage & Film and The Actors’ Gang among others, and earned her MA Acting with Voice & Movement focus at Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Arts Educational Schools London. She earned a second graduate degree in Creative Writing at Dartmouth College, where she did drama studies, shared the stage with fellow female actor-writer alums like Mindy Kaling, and performed with the Black Underground Theater Association. Therese was recently honored to have her short political piece, For Their Own Good, staged at Sacred Fools Theatre in Hollywood, of which she’s a Company Member. She is excited to be performing with them for Fringe 2019!

Interesting fact: Therese’s family owned and operated a non-profit theatre company, Theaterwork, for several decades (1965-2016) under her parents, Artistic Director and playwright, David M. Olson, and Managing Director and musician/composer, Paula Olson.
