David's one man show/account of his early life was touching, sad, funny, insightful, educational and hilarious. When you go to a show like this you think, "wow, an hour of someone just talking?" but it was such a pleasant surprise, presented very eloquently and it definitely did not feel like an hour, it just flew by! I thoroughly enjoyed it on so many levels...I laughed, I cried and was touched. Go see this show! ... full review

This was more of a staged reading then a show. He read stories about his life from his iPad. Some of the stories were good.... full review

A chronicle of being raised by crazy folks in Moundsville, West Virginia and how David Michael Taylor finally convinced the convincers he should Get Out! Set includes video streetscapes and slides that transform the small venue into a mental hospital, church and nude bar…an unlikely escape. A must see! ... full review

I was a bit disappointed that the "play" was only a staged reading and not really ready for a full performance. I'm not sure if the show would change if Mr. Taylor was off book, but it would be interesting to see how the performance would develop. I think this fact should have been mentioned in the synopsis and presented as an incomplete work. Regardless of those issues, I still liked the stories and the storytelling. I'm not at the Fringe trying to find shows to not like. I want to find the redeeming quality in everyone of them. This show had a heart and a very interesting perspective on life, because of the origination of the stories...in West Virginia. I grew up in a similar environment and could relate well to Mr. Taylor... full review

Interesting story, but not much of a show.... full review

I wasn't sure what to expect going into this performance, but I was pleasantly surprised and very entertained. The performance style is simple yet hard-hitting, and David's engaging recount of a very real and chaotic upbringing is both cringe-inducing and hilarious. At times you find yourself shaking your head in disbelief thinking, "How could all of THAT happen to one person??" But apparently it did, and it's worth it to sit for an hour and thank your lucky stars you weren't born in Moundsville!... full review

What a treat. David Taylor's writing is astonishing. After the Fringe, his next stop will surely be the pages of The New Yorker. Look out, David Sedaris!... full review

I can always tell how I feel about a show when I find myself retelling it to someone else. If I didn't care for it, I tend to push it out of my mind and move one. If I love it, I can't stop talking about it. This morning I found myself telling David's story to my son on the phone - for no particular reason, just that I'd seen the most interesting show this past weekend and had to tell him about it. I think he's already the third person this week who has heard me retelling David's tragic and yet triumphant and very interesting story. The best part of David's story is that it isn't over yet - he's fabulous and I can't wait to see what comes up next for him in life because he's a wonderful story teller and kept me entertained the whole time... full review

I absolutely LOVED this show! It was absolutely fantastic. David is an incredible storyteller. The writing reminded me of the best of David Sedaris and Augusten Burroughs. And his comic timing is impeccable. Bravo!... full review
