LOS ANGELES (April 22, 2012) – Some men are born to be Captains. Others aren’t. All his life, James Lawton has longed for respect, to be a leader among men. Yet, aboard The Red Asphodel, he’s stuck down in the brig, mopping the floor. Then, the ship is blown off course, and Lawton’s luck begins to change.

Though set in the 18th century, The Cannibal King explores issues we face every day. We all fight for power, status and respect. We make sacrifices to survive. But, rich or poor, name or no, the end is the same for everyone.

Follow the crew of The Red Asphodel as they try to stay alive and get back home to England.

Performances start at 8 pm at the Hudson Guild Theatre, Fridays and Saturdays, June 16 and 17, and June 22 and 23. Tickets are $10.

The Hudson Theatre is located at 653...
