I enjoyed this show with its basic premise - what we would do if we could go back in time and alter events that we felt had somehow negatively impacted us? Oh, the endless possibilities. Chris’ commentary about his own personal experiences was hilarious, insightful and thoroughly entertaining. In between the laughs, I was surprisingly moved by some of the quieter, more poignant moments as well. Great job, Chris McGowan! ... full review

I like the connection between the storyline and Mr. McGowan's interests. The references to old TV shows and movies fits us in the 80's generation to a T. We were raised by TV and it shows in our personalities and our current interests. I think Mr. McGowan did a great job of not relying on the references as stand-alone gags. He didn't "name drop", but used the references to enhance his story. The crowd loved him and the laughter just supported his excellent delivery further. Storytelling can be done many ways and Mr. McGowan's approach made the show fun to watch. Well done.... full review

Who hasn't dreamed of going back throughout the timeline of your life and fixing everything that was so very wrong? Geeks can do that, on stage anyway. Completely delightful all the way through, with a deft use of hilarious personal anecdotes blended with heartfelt emotion and pitch-perfect geek pop references, all sold by McGowan's super-charming, high energy presentation. (42 minutes. Hee!)... full review

An engaging ode to sci-fi nerd-dom? Yes. An homage to the pop media that floated past the eyes of teenage Gen-X/Gen-Y cusp boys? Absolutely. But, like any solo performance that's truly worth its salt, "Life" transcends its niche humor and speaks to the wants that we all have... to fix what once was. To undo regrets. The show is both hilarious and bittersweet, and McGowan's presentation is so natural and un-forced that he transitions from comedy to drama with ease. Even if his time machine is just a figment of his imagination, we are certainly along for the ride.... full review

A self described "nerd", Chris McGowan uses his clever script to tell awkward / humorous moments in life that he would go back and change - using a time machine. The show surprises with laugh out moments as well as emotional turns. It is a must see at the Hollywood Fringe Festival. You will not be disappointed. ... full review
