In 2018 Aaron Francis premiered a short play in Sacred Fools’s late night episodic show Serial Killers and he has adapted the work into a full 45 minute piece of theater for this World Premiere run.
The show is about a couple of scientists on their way to a distant world to begin terra-forming it for the arrival of colonists who aren’t far behind them. The long space journey can only be achieved by placing the astronauts into a cryo-sleep for the majority of the trip. But on this unfortunate trek, something woke our couple up a few years too early, and now that they’re awake and can’t get back to sleep, they have to spend all of their time stuck in a tiny ship for way longer than they anticipated. So now these two that used to be a loving couple have grown to hate each other. And when an emergency pops up, it’s anybody’s guess if they can put their animosity aside for long enough to save themselves.
