CORINA, From Lapdance to Sundance. A biography brought to life through my performance on stage. Growing up Mexican American in a home with lots of domestic violence, to a single mom and a father who was in and out because he was an alcoholic musician. Becoming an actor was not a priority in my home. Born in Moline Ill. a town predominantly white I was also in constant conflict with my identity never feeling American enough at school to not being Mexican enough at home and around certain family members. So as soon as I could, I started stripping. In Austin Texas where we ended up after many moves, to be able to afford and pursue my dream of becoming an actress in Hollywood. In the least likely of places (the strip club) I end up meeting a girl who introduces me to my first acting teacher and acting class. Fast forward a few years later I book the lead role in a SAG feature that soon after gets into the Sundance festival competition in 2011.
