Selected has an Honorable Mention for Hollywood Fringe 2019 “Girl From Schenectady” is a One Woman Show Written, Produced and Performed by Odunayo Majekodunmi (a.k.a Ayo Majek) This is Ayo’s first One Woman show as well as her first Fringe Performance. The show is based on a true story of Ayo’s dating journey and the impact of parental divorce in searching for True Love and Self Acceptance. The show also illustrates Ayo’s Nigerian heritage, culture, values, as well as how it shaped her views on marriage and relationships with men over all.
“Girl From Schenectady” was also inspired by conversations and interviews with Single Christian Women who experienced similar situations and conflicts with finding True Love, especially women that are celibate and waiting until marriage to have sex.
Actress and AMDA Alumni Ayo Majek was born in Nigeria and grew up in Schenectady New York. She lived in NY most of her life and describes her dating experiences with men of different racial backgroun
