Because of You was an awesome experience. The stories each person told were expressions of individual life journeys culminating in a place of gratitude. The play itself was like embarking on a trip with each character. The magical tapestry of stories takes us along for the ride through many challenging life experiences; some difficult, hurtful, sad, and even irreversible, but relatable. In the end, we find that each found their way to a place of gratitude in someone that helped them through it. This was my first time at the New Collective Theater, and I really enjoyed this performance. The format of the show is really different and interesting. Inspirational! Rarely, do we take the time to contemplate those people who have shaped the very people we have become. Even more rare, we forget to take the time to thank those individuals. After attending “Because of You” I felt inspired to reflect on who those individuals are for me and then to express my gratitude to them. ... full review

'Because of You' striped down all the pomp and laid out true vulnerability. The show was sentimental without being heavy handed and overwrought. The venue suited the concept of intimacy and the comfort of having hindsight. The most touching point of all the collective stories was that, when you look back with acceptance and understanding, you are propelled forward.... full review
