This was not what I was expecting! Upon checking in I was excited and concerned. A waiver to see a show, I had never heard of that before...what was I getting myself into? This was a totally different experience from any other show I have seen before! The audience chooses the ending and directly affects the outcome which provides the audience with multiple ways to see the show and never see the same ending twice! We were greeted with what seemed to be people involved with the show and making it very obvious that they were not audience members although they were sitting in the audience as if they were about to watch. Once the opening monologue of the Professor started it was unclear as to how the audience was supposed to make decisio... full review

Very creative. I loved how interactive it was and how we affected the outcome of the play. I NEED to come again and see who lives and who dies!... full review

Super creative, super fun, and super bloody and gory. MB stage takes the best elements of The Video Games, adds a cup of clever ingenuity, and a dash of Until Dawn to create something truly fun. ... full review

This show is a blast. It reminds me of their latest production "The Video Games" but with a group of archetypal high school characters who play their stereotypes to the extreme. It is very interesting to see how invested the audience was to routing for the "study" groups. We also managed to keep everyone but the bad guys alive! Apparently that has never happened before. Each character has an arc which is very interesting to see- some more extreme than others.... full review

If I'm correct, the show is based off the video game UNTIL DAWN. Knowing that, the platform and setup of the show is a pretty cool homage. Especially since the characters play into very specific archetypes. It's a very MB styled show where they cleverly recycle their actors, characters, and references. V tasteful. If you aren't familiar with their work, you won't be missing out on any inside jokes. Still a fun, creepy, audience-voting show. Would recommend. ... full review

The Study is a phenomenal achievement that is a wickedly fun rabbit hole of campy horror. Full disclosure: I'm not a fan of horror. Not only that, but I scare far too easily and have a habit of falling deep into a pit of psychological torture and despair after horror films. I was hesitant to attend The Study because the waiver convinced me that doing so was going to give me a heart attack. I'm very happy that this wasn't the case. What I did receive, however, was a crazy night that left me a more than a little shook from a mixture of anxiety, fear, and straight up fun. In this "Choose Your Own Adventure" style piece, the audience controls the fate of a hapless friend group that's being terrorized by a dastardly duo of creepy killers. A ... full review

The show was fun! I enjoyed the intimacy of the small theater that put me closer to the action. The show was heavily based on the video game "Until Dawn", to which you'll very apparently see the connections if you've ever played the game. It's almost like a live version of the game, but with an altered story and game-inspired characters. Both the best and worst thing about the story comes down to the decision making portions. Making the decisions was fun... seeing how poorly many of the audience members chose was... not fun. There were several times throughout the show that seemed like most of the audience simply wanted characters to die. I mean, I can't tell if the audience genuinely wanted to see characters die or if they really thought... full review

Witty, entertaining, and adorable detail-attentive tribute to b-horror-flick acting, plot, and playfulness. Loved subtleties like the audience experience actually begins the moment you walk up to the box office and are handed a beautifully overwritten two page waver warning of gore, shocks, and emotional discomfort, to put you in a place of fear-tickled anticipation of dramatic risks about to be taken, along with a questionnaire that brings up a light edge of vulnerability by having you instagram about your own fight and flight tendencies, all before you even walk inside. And then the professor states quite clearly we are all part of a serious social Study, which with the light-hearted balance of death and humor is easily forgotten -- reveal... full review

BEST WAY TO SPEND A FRIDAY NIGHT! It’s absolutely hilarious...not sure if that’s what they intended, but I was laughing the entire time. It’s super interactive, engaging, and exciting! I was sitting with someone who’s afraid of horror shows and he was freaking out so that was definitely part of the fun. They allowed the audience to be interactive and comment throughout which honestly added to the experience. Clever, at times creepy, and always entertaining, I HIGHLY recommend this show!!! ... full review
