What I liked

From the moment you enter the space, the hospice environment, you know you are in for a very personal experience. This is not a typical solo piece. Ashley Steed has created something that does not spend time "telling’ us her story. She shows us, allows us to experience with her, on whatever level resonates for each individual. I particularly loved the dance/movement moments toward the close of the piece. Lyrical and moving.

What I didn't like

It’s interesting: in our group of attendees, at the close of the experience, no one arose form their seats to leave. No one felt compelled to applaud. And it isn;t anything i would “fix.” I think part of the uniqueness of this piece is that every audience, or, should I say, group of witnesses, experiences in their own way. It is exactly what the name of the producing organization espouses: it is visceral. And alive.

My overall impression

This is a truly unique, immersive experience. It’s everything you want in a Fringe experience.
