The topic and writing are fascinating touching on Big Brother and corporations’ control of citizens; minority citizens in particular. Americans of African Ancestry’s (teeth grinders) dreams are controlled by the State and corporations. The writing is culturally significant and keeping your ears attune to the subtlety of the dialogue, you recognize the characters’ dreams (and individualism) are never deferred, but rather appropriated in totality as dreams are now manufactured by a multinational corporation. The play reminds one of a politicized contemporary Twilight Zone episode in which we don't know whether the lead character is being held in a motel room or a detention center, and we don't know if she is an idealistic whistle blower or apparently complicit with the evil deeds of an immoral corporation. The characters are involved in an extended verbal dance of justifying their existence while exposing the alleged corruptions of the others in the play. Who is guilty and who is innocent? It is not so easy to discern. Hutchinson challenges the audience to listen carefully. Reality and morality. As Ringo sang, you know it don't come easy. It was such a complex and relevant hypothetical situation that was interesting and enjoyable to watch . I want to see it again to catch everything. Kudos to the cast and writer/director on this one. Theatre should make you think and present situations parallel to what's going on in society. ... full review
