What I liked

I really love the soft, vibrant look of the play created by the projection onstage, in contrast to the almost tragic violence shown throughout the story. I found that beyond the visual appeal, this touch helped solidify the somber tone the story wanted to convey. The director really took many liberties when crafting this story and I wish to congratulate his efforts along with the cast and crew who worked on this show.

What I didn't like

If there is one tiny issue I can mention, it’s that I could somewhat clearly hear footsteps behind the curtain where actors would exit and enter. It’s a distraction that I did end up overlooking as the show went on, however.

My overall impression

What a beautiful story, and performance! The Women of Lockerbie tastefully uses a real-life tragedy as a backdrop to tell a fictional, yet a truly human story about loss and how we wish to preserve the lives of our loved ones. I found myself relating to the pain of the main character as a mother who also has a son of a similar age, which was only complemented by the effective acting on display. Likewise, I’m sure that many audiences can find themselves connecting to this story in a similar way. This is a very different story that I would’ve never thought to be this touching.
