My overall impression

Out of 12 multigenre shows I saw in the 2018 Hollywood Fringe Festival, Greg LaVoi’s “I Died Today” stood out for the emotional wallop it delivered, and the sensitive, heart-rending performance of Rene Rosado. Greg LaVoi packed a lot of wisdom about life, love, and making the most of both into 20+ minutes. Rene Rosado stunned with his in-depth portrayal of Jake, and star-making ability to hold his audience in rapt attention, as he explored his emotional landscape. The impact of “I Died Today” is its function as a wake-up call — a red-flashing, siren-blaring alert to tune in to what life is all about, before it’s too late. As the spiritual guide who shakes the audience into awareness, Rene Rosado leaves his mark, and his impact in this role lives on.
