This show was a mess from beginning to end. Drag Queens are generally larger than life, but Vageena Honey - who was fed her lines through an earpiece - wore an unstyled wig and basic gown and barely gave anything I would consider to be a drag performance. The show was far too long, had far too many people in it who mostly seemed unprepared, included a talk show plot and history with the host that were wholly unneeded, and the story was a jumble of cliches and tropes.... full review

Don’t bother. L.A. has plenty of performers who raise drag to an art form, but sadly Vageena Honey, the self-obsessed drag queen at the center of this show isn’t one. It’s drag as it might have been done in the 70s in some Southern backwater town. The actor playing Vageena, seemed to be both getting lines from an earpiece and ad-libbing, so the overall performance was both unsteady and repetitive. It’s an old story (misunderstood and bullied child achieves greatness), but this script brings nothing new or interesting to the mix. It’s vanity theater. I find it odd that a play about drag lacks everything that good drag is about – wit, style, creativity and most of all showmanship. ... full review

Lots of hard working cast members with failed sound & lighting marks that often left actors in complete darkness. It was very clear that the lead actor was being fed lines on an ear piece and that killed the pace of the show completely. The premise is a good one but needs to have at least 20 minutes cut. The dancing boy scene was absolutely not needed for the story. ... full review

This show is memorable... for all the wrong reasons. I would only recommend this show to people I wanted to punish--90 minutes of meandering confusion, shock, and bewilderment, followed by a lifetime of knowing they'll never get those 90 minutes back. God knows I won't.... full review

Vageena Honey makes an honest attempt at holding it all together. A drag queen goes on a talk show to tell her story about surviving an abusive father, bullies and teachers in high school and a narcissistic sugar daddy as the audience becomes the audience within the audience; I felt I was part of an awkward Björk video for the entire show, wondering why I was there for in the first place.... full review

I loved the heart of this show. I loved the redemptive, healing and personal courage tale of personal acceptance through trials and tribulations. More than once I felt strongly during the show. But Snap, Honey! despite all its heart remains something of a technical mess. The blocking was terrible, the lights erratic, the set looked amateurish and honestly the script needed some major work. This even extended to the lead actor, who kept gesturing by putting her hands in front of her face (!) and reusing the same two catch phrases constantly without altering the reading once. They ceased to be catch phrases at that point and became a tic. But I really want to emphasize the HEART of this play could hardly be better. The TALENT of those ... full review

I had a fantastic time throughout the show. I was entertained, and loved that the audience was invited to participate in the "talk show" acts. I really like knowing the story of Vageena Honey. I even teared up a little at the end of the play during the reunion between Vageena and her dad. ... full review

Vageena Honey IS this show. And she is badass and out of the box in her diva-ness and her perspective on everything! The other characters really just serve to create her portrait. I love drag and camp SO MUCH, and she just got better with every minute that went by. And when she did her drag song it was really touching.... full review

A great balance of raw emotion and humour. The lead actor playing Vageena Honey did a amazing job of staying connected to with the audience and keeping us drawn in to what was happening on stage. ... full review
