I've seen this show twice and loved it each time. The music is great. I laughed, I cried. No, seriously. I cried. Can't wait to see it again.... full review

I saw the production of this show twice in December. It was great both times I have seen it and hope to get the chance to see it again soon. The ensemble was great and the music was perfectly integrated. It's a great story with the perfect amount of humor and heartfelt characters. I highly recommend seeing this amazing show.... full review

GO SEE GROUP!!! If you haven't made it out, don't miss this one. This is one of the most moving pieces of theatre I've seen in a long time. Some my heart, drive, and passion throughout the entire production. I laughed. I cried. I couldn't stop thinking about it or humming the songs on my drive home. What an amazing show & an exceptionally talented GROUP of people!... full review

This musical play has an interesting concept: put six people in a group therapy situation with a facilitator, only make it music therapy. The six will sing of their lives, thus enabling them to reveal their hitherto hidden traumas which brought them to the group in the first place. This production had some arresting characterizations and tuneful songs, but the the entire evening is marred by the actors seeming inability to project their voices, both speaking and singing. A lot of the dialogue and lyrics get lost in sloppy diction and inadequate projection. It may be that a part of the problem was that the actors had performed the show originally in a different venue with different acoustical qualities and simply were not coached to make... full review

I didn't really know what to expect when I entered the Stella Adler this evening. A few of my friends had raved about this play in its earlier incarnation, but had pretty well kept mum regarding details of the plot, as will I, but I have to say that even in this stripped down version, "Group" was one of the most moving pieces of live theater I have seen in a long time. The music was evocative, and extremely catchy. I didn't experience a false moment in the script. Everyone of the actors brought their "A" game, and the direction was spot on. I feel that out of the several original musicals I've seen in the last couple of years, "Group" is the one destined to continue on to greater success. I truly enjoyed it, and the rest of the audience I... full review

I am thrilled to see that "Group" will be performing at the 2011 Fringe Festival. I had seen the musical in January during its original run so I am glad that the show has the opportunity to reach even more people. A creative concept, a story full of honest emotion--the play gives us a look at people during their best and worst times, showing us how we all need someone in our lives to lean on. To top it all off, "Group" is full of catchy yet emotional music played by a live trio on stage. This show has something for all!... full review
