Sister Mary Liar

LOS ANGELES, CA – June 9, 2011 – Carla Snowden’s solo play “Sister Mary Liar” debuts this Saturday at 7:30pm at the ArtWorks Theatre (Fringe Central), during Preview Week for this year’s Hollywood Fringe Festival. The performance will be a culmination of lots of successes along this show’s journey to the Fringe stage.

In early May, Carla and the show’s producer Chris McGowan unveiled a Kickstarter campaign to raise funds to produce the show for the Fringe Fest. They got a tremendous response, including a few days on Kickstarter’s homepage, and had the project funded in about 2 weeks.

Coupled with a recent mention on the “LAist This Week in Comedy” blog feature, Carla’s show is in a great position to have a successful run at this year’s Fringe. Come see it this Saturday before it’s sold out – tickets are still available!!!

LOS ANGELES, CA – May 2, 2011 – Carla Snowden is performing her new solo show, “Sister Mary Liar”, in three performances during the second annual Hollywood Fringe Festival. The hour-long solo play explores a time in Carla’s life when she volunteered at a convent and the sisters assumed she wanted to become a nun. Carla did not correct them. In fact, she lied.

“Sister Mary Liar” is a solo play about a woman trying to overcome a mountain of misunderstandings between herself and God. It highlights these incidents of guilt while exploring the less attractive parts of Carla’s personality. She has a unique comic voice in the world of solo theater and plans on taking the production across the country after this year’s Fringe!

“Sister Mary Liar” will be performed on three nights: Saturday June 11th 7:30pm (Preview), Friday June 17th 8:00pm and Saturday June 25th 6:30pm. All performances will be a...
