Review by NICK METSON

What I liked

The direction is superb, as is the acting. Extremely witty and intelligent.

What I didn't like

Nothing is wrong about this examination of how far we can go with our games.

My overall impression

Smoke is scary and sexy and totally engrossing. A two handler beautifully directed by Lisa James and acted within an inch of its life by Emily James and Patrick Stafford. A riff on Miss Julie that tears itself apart at the seams as the two characters play out their fantasies. This is theatre at its best and should not be missed.
