My overall impression

I am not a Shakespeare purist who believes that all productions should be done in the correct period and should remain completely true to the text. However, if you’re going to impose a gimmick or theme, it had better inform some new revelation or angle on the story or a character. This one-woman take on “Taming of the Shrew” fails to do this. It is simply one person reciting all of the lines, as if she were each separate character. It is obvious that Teresa Moore understands the text thoroughly. However, each character is played at the same vocal level of half to full yell and she goes at such a break-neck pace that there are no opportunities to enjoy the poetry or jokes. It is also a bit dizzying watching her literally flipping back and forth from one side of the stage to the other as each different character. I see the merits of this as an acting exercise, but as a production it doesn’t work.

"Naked Onstage"

"Naked Onstage" is a humorous (yet subtly profound) look at life, secrets, race, age, family, relationships, dumb sh*t people say and much much more! Kent's unique perspective is unexpected yet perfectly timed for 2019.
