In Deana Barone’s solo show, she tells a non-linear, experimental, partially improvisational, and interactive story, breaking conventions and the fourth wall. She inhabits eccentric and poignant characters and explores growing up as a first-generation American in the Midwest educated in a religious enclave, with a mentally ill sister, an adorable mother, a sick brother, and a guru-like father who believes the bible is propaganda.
