Meta Shakespeare goes gloriously gonzo. Ideal Fringe fair. For the love of weird-ass theatre, see it.... full review

This Fringe show caught an early buzz and it pretty much lives up to it. A deeply disturbed middle school teacher going through a brutal divorce leads his young charges into a production of Shakespeare's most violent play. It's moment of personal revelation and revenge for him, and it could be more of one for some of his students, too. There's plenty of laughs, mostly in the early going, and behandings, betongueings, patricide, matricide, regicide, cannibalism and buckets and buckets of blood. The young performers capably pull it all off ... and they do it on a school night, too.... full review

This is Titus in a whole new way. Mr. Benjamin and his class did a bang up job living up to the violence and gore of Shakespeare's bloodiest play while putting their own spin on it, heck- topping it!... full review

By going gangbusters in the opposite direction this play achieves the fear and pity feeling you may have read that you are supposed to feel watching tragedy. It is an ass backwards way to get there but it is legit!... full review

OH. MY. GOD. This is GENIUS! I was literally screaming with laughter - TEARS rolling down my face! A super-smart premise, FANTASTIC acting by EVERY member of the cast (Huge kudos to the junior cast who NAILED it!) it just enough ACTUAL Shakespeare red to even be worth seeing without the... um... revisions. Topical, well-staged, and PAINFULLY funny!! I came home and texted the words "SEE TITUS ANDRONICUS JR IMMEDIATELY!!!" to a ton of friends. You should be one of them. Sell this out!!! GO!!!... full review

Highly recommended! A roller coaster push-pull relationship between reality versus truth in theatre. It's so much fun to watch these great kids try their darnedest to give their best to this show-within-the show. It's difficult enough to get less-than-seasoned actors to play the truth of a scene or their characters, much less to tackle the meta theatricality of this show. And these guys and girls pulled it way off with charming aplomb. Loved it!!... full review
