"Boss: The Untold Tony Danza Story" fires HARD on all cylinders. The cast is not only talented, but extremely well rehearsed (something you can't say about most fringe shows this year). The writing is quick, witty and accessible. I admit, I've never seen an episode of "Who's The Boss?" so I was a bit unsure going in whether or not I would understand references or the show in general. Writer, Damien Luvara, has carefully taken his laymen audience into consideration while still staying true to the source material. I had a couple friends that know "Who's The Boss?" backwards and forwards that came along with me and they were repeating lines and talking about past episodes that were referenced (quite subtle at times) in the show. Just a joy to w... full review

Damien Luvara's brilliant, hysterical script about Tony Danza is only surpassed by his brilliant, hysterical portrayal of Tony Danza. Supported by a pitch-perfect cast and the seamless, always on-point direction of Matt Ritchey, Luvara has created a show that defies your expectations in revealing the "truth" behind the boxer-turned-TV star and his hit '80s sitcom "Who's the Boss?". Such is Luvara's comic genius, you don't even have to have seen an episode of that show in order to enjoy this show. Damien does Danza by taking his passing resemblance to the actor and transforming himself into his doppelganger through sheer talent and force of will. It's his tour de force performance that makes the entire play oddly real even when it gets re... full review

Incredibly fun and nostalgic, this show was both an homage and a parody of 80s life and sitcoms. We had so much fun. The story is charming and the acting is amazing! Really, really great acting - these actors made me believe everything they were doing and saying in spite of the fact that they were incredibly over the top! Well done all around! ... full review

RUN TO THIS SHOW! This show is back and better than ever. The cast led by Damien Luvara are all so strong; comedic timing has been finely tuned! The script is playful and rich with industry inside jokes. This show is a lot of fun! Not a chance anyone walks out of that theater without a smile on their face. ... full review

I laughed... A LOT!!! The cast does a fantastic job embodying the actors and characters I grew up with. Particularly Damien Luvara and Summer Shirey, who had me forgetting I wasn't seeing the real Tony Danza and Judith Light up on the stage. At one point I did find myself asking "what the heck is going on here?", but then I just let myself be swept into the hilarity of this absurdist comedy and enjoyed the rib shaking ride.... full review

As a child of the 70's and 80's, I couldn't have been more excited to see this show. And Matt Richey did not let me down. His cast and crew brought to life such a unique and interesting story about someone we all know and love. Not only that, but the attention to detail regarding Danza's backstory and relationships is so much fun to witness. And to have it all anchored by Luvara's performance and script makes this show easily worth it's ticket price. Definitely a must see!... full review

Tony Danza, Judith Light, and the rest of the cast, from the classic sitcom, "Who's the Boss?" are put through the ringer, in this wild and farcical romp, playing at the Complex. Damien Luvara and Summer Shirey, star as the titular actors from the '80s TV show, who are earnestly trying to solve the drought in their acting careers, when they are met by a mob boss, played by Gabriel Rissa, who has big plans to make some money and end their malaise. But the problems quickly arise when Tony and Judith try to maintain their probity in a business, and world, that doesn't care about such things. With adept direction from, Matt Ritchey, and a strong supporting ensemble including Todd Stroik, Krista Conti, Edward Kiniry-Ostro, Lauren Virginia Albert ... full review
