Much like the length of string that winds around the intimate stage during the course of the performance, this show is taut, delicately crafted, refreshingly non-linear, and yet all connected. Leslie's frustration with the world's obsession with being happy particularly resonated with me. Leslie brings a warmth to her performance and is delightfully charming, even as she reveals her struggles and goes to dangerous places. Director Rebecca Hengstenberg deserves credit for keeping the show floating along with efficiency and grace. I've long admired Leslie's work as an actor, and she really comes into her own as a solo performer with this piece. Beautiful! ... full review

Leslie Murphy is brilliant, sincere, vulnerable, grounded, honest and heartbreaking in her one woman show, Sincerely. She weaves stories, memories, musings and letters from strangers together in a poetic, interesting, fascinating and delightful way. From the beginning of the piece I was mesmerized by her open vulnerability and access to her emotions, but not surprised, because Leslie has always been that kind of an actress. The difference here is that she's not acting, she's telling the truth of her life, well, a few years of it, that were particularly hard years. Hearing her share how she got the "sads" and didn't know how to get out of bed some days is particularly heartbreaking; but her bravery in telling this tale will move you and w... full review

To say that Leslie Murphy's one woman show "Sincerely," is simply amazing would in no way do the show justice. For an hour (which incidentally flew by), I found myself completely engaged in the unbelievably true to life memories that the actress / writer dared to share with her audience. While I laughed at many lighthearted and touching moments and found other segments to be circumstances that I was glad I've never had to endure, it was the "been there, done that" moments that hit home. Watching this actress bare her soul to her audience allowed me to connect with her over our shared experiences, leaving me asking myself many questions about where I've been, what I'm doing, and where do I go from here. For a single performer (with a simp... full review

This show is jaw-droppingly, shatterling-ly great. Courageously personal, artfully written, passionately delivered, with some surprising and skillfully-acted twists. Leslie's won the acting award, this time she should get the writing award! Don't miss this!!... full review

I just saw this the other night. Leslie's performance is one for the ages. The story is so incredibly personal and she goes through it piece by piece effortlessly. I was so touched by this it actually drove me to tears. Any artist who's moved to LA with the hopes of "making it" will get a strong message from this play. I really recommend watching this and supporting Leslie in this amazing piece of work. Thank you Leslie for this performance and for putting yourself out there in this way. ... full review

I didn't know what to expect walking into Sincerely and was completely enthralled with this captivating story. This show is deeply intimate and yet mysterious and temptingly elusive in the best way--leaving me wanting more but afraid to ask for it lest the magic spell of this intoxicating tale be broken. Leslie embodies the characters in Sincerely with such compassion--fully immersing herself in their experience, desires, and point of view. I loved her take on technology and the shout out to good old fashioned letter writing--prompting me to wonder if I could find my old love letters and wanting to peruse them again. Leslie has a rapid fire delivery that is fluid and wonderful-- she rides her beautiful writing like a wave--rising and crashi... full review

I really enjoyed Leslie's show. I understand the "sads" so hearing her talk about her experience with life's unexpected series of sh#t storms was really relatable. Her relaxed energy just draws you into a series of stories that speak of yearning for connection (letters from a stranger...), bad luck and hitting bottom. She is such an engaging and comfortable performer, fearless in her honesty. She just envelops you in this story and literally weaves you into her world. Lovely, delicate storytelling.... full review
