Wade Skalsky is the feel-good story of Hollywood Fringe 2015. A first-timer, not just at Fringe but at acting/writing ANYTHING (except maybe legal briefs for his day job as an attorney). You'd never know it. He has a natural charm and wicked sense of humor and has created a thoroughly engaging, compelling, hilarious show. I'm guessing half his budget went toward a single, show-stopping prop involving a giant clam shell and drinking straws that had me pissing my pants. His show is a must-see and is a sterling example of just what makes HFF so fantastic. Well done, Wade!... full review

Often times we see actors play lawyers on film and television. Here, we got a chance to see a lawyer BE an actor. Wasn't really sure what I was expecting, maybe some oratorical debate of some sort, or at the very least something with a lot of lawyer jargon that would be hard to follow. But Wade delivered an endearing, humorous, life story that was so engaging and entertaining that if I didn't laugh out loud during some of it, I was smiling the entire time. Great credit to his wife for a well written and well constructed story. Congratulations to the both of you!!!... full review

When you open the program of this show, your are immediately told that Wade is not an actor. He is a lawyer. That being said, you would never know it. With some great direction and coaching, and some fairly fine-tuned writing, Skalsky has crafted an amusing story that will keep you smiling from the moment he saunters on stage with a bottle in one hand and a glass in the other. With some really nice comedic timing, Wade shares with us some intimate moments that shaped his journey and life that we just feel fortunate to hear them. Well done!... full review

In the program for Fish Out of Whiskey, Wade Skalsky's bio says he "is not an actor. He does not have a headshot, an IMDB page, or any kind of reel." Lucky for us, what he does have is a GREAT sense of humor and natural instincts for comedic timing - and any "real" actor will tell you, those are GOLD! Wade tells a story that is funny, engaging and perfectly self-deprecating. He may not be an actor, but he is a gifted story-teller who should keep finding ways to bring his quick wit to life!... full review

In the program for the show it states: "Wade is not an actor. He does not have a headshot, IMDB page or any kind of reel". It is because wade is NOT an actor that he can give the kind of gentle and real performance that he does. There is nothing fake about this. This is his life. With flaws and imperfections just like the rest of us. This show is also extremely funny and well written. Wade NAILS the prop and site gags on stage as he talks about shooting pheasants, skeleton racing (I know seriously, who is this guy?) and growing up a midwest boy with a west coast personality. I don't know why Wade decided to take time off from Lawyering to do a solo show, but I'm glad he did. I hope he continues his creative outlets because this show prove... full review

When you meet Wade, he is a charming and magnetic presence. This certainly carries over to his presence in stage. His show has moments in it that had me laughing uncontrollably. The narrative is only loosely tied together, but the ride is so fun that you don't mind. Wade tells the story so engagingly and makes possibly the most hilarious use of lighting cues I've seen at Fringe.... full review
