Definitely was not sure to expect, so I took my sister, a bona fide 30-something Swiftie from the Midwest, and we both loved it from the first mention of Joe Jonas. I laughed out loud a bunch - the performance was perfect, and the media was flawless. Will probably go again...... full review

There's not doubt about it -- Seven Seductions is out there. I mean way out there. It's hard even to explain what exactly it's about. A one man show on seven flings of a country pop star, whose fans are predominantly squealing gaping teenage girls is probably the last thing I'd expect to keep me on the edge of my seat as a nearly thirty-year-old male. But here's the thing -- Thaddeus Shafer's brilliant metamorphoses from one narcissistic male celebrity to the next does exactly that, keeps you laughing on the edge of your seat, and leaves you wishing for an eighth seduction when it's all over. Seductions never gets old. Just as one the "seductions" starts to hit a nerve, Shafer undergoes a schizophrenic transition to the next neurotic lover. ... full review

Fantastic writing and a must-see show. I was very impressed by Tad Shafer, who shifts seamlessly from character to character. Amin El Gamal did an amazing job directing Shafer. I highly recommend this hilarious show. ... full review

It is rare to see something totally and completely unique on the LA stage. I have never seen a production with this type of structure. I love the backstory (that seven female playwrites wrote the monologues for the male lead). I literally know nothing about Taylor Swift - I don't even know her music. But this was RIVETING. The lead, Tad Shafer, is mesmerizing and skilled and hot and embodies all 7 of her exes (I know those guys). Loved every second and can't wait to see where it heads!... full review

This is one fabulously weird ride. At first the subject matter (pop culture? swifties?) seems like it could be cutesy and superficial, but NO -- this play is very relevant and resonates with me about our culture's freaky obsession with celebrity, as well as our programmed ideals about love and relationships. First of all, I LOVE the idea of having seven female playwrights give voices to these seven celebrity ex-boyfriends of Taylor Swift. Women have a lot to say about gender roles and relationships and "perfect" celebrities - and these seven do it well through this darkly humorous and somewhat absurd lens of these "Seven Seductions". This show is very unlike anything I've seen, and I highly recommend it to anyone, regardless of their ... full review

I have no context of Taylor Swift other than she's a popular singer, so I went into this show not expecting anything, really. I had no idea what it was about, all I knew is the promos were odd and had an undercurrent of something weird and subversive so I thought it was worth a look. And yes. Yes it is. The show explores the personalities of 7 of Swift's exes, through video footage and monologues by the "idiot actor," Tad Shafer, who impressed me with many many specific moments, one of which is nailing the Kennedy dialect, not the easiest pattern of American speech. The show starts off funny, mostly, with the first three exes exploring their inadequacy as men in fairly obvious ways through juxtaposition of thought (recorded ... full review

Thad Shafer is a brilliant, brave, funny performer. Each date offers something original and specifically it's own to the audience. There's hyperbole and over the top moments, as well as subtlety and nuance. There are reflections on fame and privacy, and private moments of pain, and awe for the girl in the title. It's a sweet show that covers a lot of ground for all it's silliness while still somehow giving a respectful nod to the country sweetheart who bakes cookies and gives us catchy pop hits about love. Great writing on the part of all the female playwrights. ... full review

I give this show an enthusiastic GO! Seven Seductions is hilarious and surprising-- you find yourself genuinely feeling for each of the characters (and Taylor Swift). Social commentary and actual meaningful themes suffuse their way into the script and underlie the entire show, and you find yourself left with them more than the comedy you thought you were watching. Tad Shafer is a BRILLIANT actor, so getting to watch him morph his way through 7 people is a definite treat! In a play that could've been done over the top, Amin el Gamal directs Shafer and sets the scene incredibly well-- there is not a wasted motion or overdone moment. The play, written by seven female playwrights, is fun to travel through-- each done in a different style. I part... full review

Tad Shafer plays 7 of Taylor Swift's ex paramours. 80 minutes of pure, really enjoyable and funny entertainment. Tad has an energy that lets him brood, brag, flex, acclaim and seduce as only celebrity can. It was great!... full review

What a hilarious ride! I went with a friend not really knowing what to expect and I have to say that this was something truly unique. I've never been to a one-man theater performance before and I was blown away by the actors (Tad Shafer) ability to keep me laughing and entertained the whole time. Seven different and obtuse stories about our infatuation with celebrities and their infatuations with themselves. Expertly written and incredibly unique. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!! ... full review
